PROFILE

My name's Jerome Dawes, and I've been practising as a therapist since 2017. My degree was a unique BACP accredited dual training course - I studied two different psychotherapeutic modalities at Birkbeck, University of London; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. As part of this training, I completed a two year clinical placement at St George's Hospital Medical School. I graduated with distinction and qualified as a BACP registered psychotherapist in 2019.

After qualifying, I gained over five years of experience working for the University of London (UCL and SOAS). In 2024 I started my own private practice, and in 2025 I was awarded accredited status by the BACP; Accreditation certifies a practitioner's advanced competence and substantial experience.

My interests include Oriental culture (Japan especially), Ancient and Medieval history, and Art & Design.
